French Teacher 2024-2025
The Nelson Waldorf School is seeking applications for a part time French Teacher for grades 1 to 9. The position is available for the 2024-2025 school year, with the contract beginning in August 2024.
The French teacher will bring joy and enthusiasm for the learning of French. Key qualities are strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
With the responsibility of carrying a class of up to 24 students, the successful candidate will have excellent class management and organizational skills.
The responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following :
Deliver the French Curriculum integrating BC Ministry requirements and Waldorf curriculum
Report on students according to Faculty agreements and BC Ministry requirements
Abide by BC Independent School teacher conduct and competence standards
Reports to : Principal of School
Terms of Employment : Permanent, part-time 0.65 FTE ; $ 33,475 to $ 40,000 plus benefits (health, disability, life insurance and tuition) and increments for related experience.
Education and Skill Requirements :
BC Teacher Certification
Completed Waldorf Teacher Training with a clear understanding of Rudolf Steiner’s education and philosophy will be preferred or willingness to take the Waldorf training
Fluency in French and English
