Company : Roctest Limited (“Roctest” or “Company”)Job Title : General Manager Reports to : Division PresidentPosition SummaryThe General Manager will play a significant role in driving growth in scale and value by providing full P&L direction and oversight to the Company. The General Manager will have full accountability for all aspects of the Company including manufacturing, engineering, product development, sales, marketing, finance, and customer service. Core responsibilities include driving operational excellence, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, new product introduction, sustainable growth, revenue, and EBITDA for the Company. This position is based in Saint Lambert, Quebec, Canada.Key Responsibilities Serve as a leader for Roctest with a focus on driving effective processes leading to overall business growth and success; Work closely with the Nova Metrix President, Geotech Financial Controller, VP of Sales and Marketing, and the VP of Engineering to build and execute on a strategic plan that delivers sustainable and profitable growth and strengthens market presence; Lead full implementation of policy deployment and daily management across the business. Rapidly introduce daily management disciplines in sales, marketing, customer service, quality assurance, repair, and engineering functions; Cooperate with the Roctest subsidiaries Telemac (France), Smartec (Switzerland) and EnOmFra (France) to achieve corporate goals by ensuring clear and timely communication, on-time delivery, and high product quality; Manage effectively to budget, forecast and have tight control of operating expenses and KPI’s, with an emphasis on inventory, gross margin, and EBITDA;Conduct talent assessments and enhance the management team’s capabilities and competence through mentoring, teaching improved processes, and necessary top-grading to ensure the organization has the talent and capability to routinely perform at a high level;Drive annual planning to develop annual operating plans and updated strategic plans;Lead and coach the Company on the execution of the operating plans, including the cascade of daily management to the work cell level to achieve targets;Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across all departments;Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success;Establish and maintain strong relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, and the Company’s Parent and Sister Companies;Other duties as may be assigned.Experience, Skills and EducationCritical experience must include and demonstrate success in driving performance in an instrumentation / sensor business; driving new product introduction; and using a consensus building and a collaborative leadership style. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of energy and drive, demonstrated by a focus on measurable success and a will to win. It is important that the successful candidate has shown the ability to be resourceful and a quick learner outside the support of a big company environment.Minimum of 10 years of experience with a proven record of success in senior level general or commercial management, preferably in the geotechnical instrumentation;Track record of driving business excellence with at least $10M in revenue;Exemplary track record driving measurable results with a focus on revenue, EBITDA, and market share growth;Experience in managing hardware, software, and mechanical product development projects with an emphasis on improved processes and successful outcomes;Demonstrated success managing to forecast and to budgets a must. P&L experience is also a must;Demonstrated ability to identify, hire, and support key talent across the organization;Exceptional verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English and French as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills; Concise communication style and an ability to communicate business insights is critical;Demonstrated competency coordinating manufacturing operations with and / or operationally integrating acquisitions;Must be hands-on. The successful candidate should be effective in environments which are entrepreneurial in nature, quick moving, and in many cases require the direct efforts of the General Manager. BS in Engineering, Science or Management. Advanced degree preferred and an MBA is a plus.
