We will determine salary based on skills and experience in relation to the function of the role, as well as equity to any other employees in the same or similar role.
Job Summary :
The ISP Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs ISP cabling. An ISP Technician must be able to install single-mode and multimode fiber optic cabling and category 5e / 6 / 6A copper cabling for business clients. This includes mechanical terminations with Uni-cam, Fast-cam, or likewise type connectors. Tasks include installing data and voice cable systems, raceway, conduit, racks, cabinets, cable suspension hardware, and other cable-related equipment. Other duties may include drilling / coring of walls and floors, cable placement and termination, setting ground cables, installing equipment, and troubleshooting any problems with the cable system. To ensure success as an ISP Technician, you should have a mid-high-level knowledge of low voltage systems and cable technology. You should be able to work in cramped spaces, and at heights, and interact with clients in a friendly and professional manner.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to) :
- Responsible for coordination with the Foreman and / or Construction / Project Manager.
- Works with onsite customer contact at the job site.
- Capable of reading job docs and understanding projects.
- Execute work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cable infrastructure.
- Perform maintenance on existing cabling systems.
- Testing newly installed or relocated cables.
- Identify and remove redundant cabling.
- Troubleshoot issues with the cable network.
- Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
- Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
