Job description

The Project Officer (Junior Project Manager) will report directly to the Project Manager and provide support through all phases of the project and support our Healthcare Redevelopment infrastructure projects. This is a five (5) year term position which is eligible for all Build Nova Scotia benefits.Responsibilities- Supporting the Project Managers through all phases of a projects development and implementation by providing general updates on project status, scheduling, project management, office functions etc.- Preparing for and attending various Project meetings including Senior Management meetings to provide general updates on project status, scheduling, project management office functions, etc.- Coordinating training and implementation of new project management tools, such as new forms, templates and software such as BIM 360 and Procore.- Assisting the project teams in developing, reviewing, analyzing and reporting on project schedules.- Reviewing and monitoring the Construction Managers' Quality Process.- Monitoring Construction Managers' Risk Management Process.- Assisting Project Managers in development and maintenance of risk analysis and contingency planning.- Assisting with Financial Reporting and tracking activities.- Coordinating the issuance of tender packages with the Construction Manager, Project team and Procurement team.- Creating summary documents and presentations by collecting and consolidating technical information into easy-to-understand pictographic presentations for a variety of audiences.- Meeting scheduling, note taking and other general office tasks as required.QualificationsPost-secondary education (degree or diploma) in construction, engineering, architecture or contract administration with some exposure to the construction industry. Graduate-level education in engineering or architecture is an asset. A Project Management (i.e., PMI PMP) designation would be an asset.Strong business acumen with an understanding of dealing with project budgets, schedules, and technical requirements. Preference may be given to candidates with an understanding of PM software and SAP.Must have sound stakeholder management skills, the ability to adapt quickly and respond to a changing environment, and experience finding positive solutions to issues with clients and diverse teams of project consultants and specialists. Presentation, consultation, negotiation, influencing and consensus building skills are also desired.
