The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) is dedicated to improving mental health systems and changing attitudes and behaviours around mental health, mental illness, and substance use.

To help shape the future of mental health in Canada, MHCC is seeking to add two directors to its Board. In addition to a demonstrated commitment to the MHCC’s mission, the Board is specifically seeking to add legal, compliance, regulatory, accounting, and / or auditing expertise (CPA designation highly valued) through this recruitment cycle.

MHCC Board Directors are responsible for fidelity to the organization’s vision, mission, strategic plan, key goals, business plan, and budget, the organization’s financial health and accountability, ensuring MHCC meets all obligations with applicable laws and regulations, and that the MHCC remains highly effective, reputable, credible, and collaborative. Directors will be appointed for a single term of up to three years with eligibility for re-election to second and third consecutive three-year terms.

As an ideal Board director, you have a passion for and dedication to mental health and substance use health. You display strong analytical and critical thinking skills, are financially literate, are an excellent communicator, have experience and skill in creative and strategic vision / planning, and are highly knowledgeable about effective governance processes and systems.

The MHCC expects that all applicants understand the importance of Reconciliation and are dedicated to creating a new paradigm for engagement with Indigenous communities. The MHCC encourages applications from racialized persons, individuals with disabilities, and people from diverse ethnic and cultural origins, sexual orientations, and gender identities and expressions.

La Commission de la santé mentale du Canada (CSMC) est déterminée à améliorer les systèmes de santé mentale et à transformer les attitudes et comportements envers la santé mentale, la maladie mentale et la consommation de substances.

Pour contribuer à façonner l’avenir de la santé mentale au Canada, la CSMC cherche à ajouter deux personnes administratrices à son conseil d’administration. En plus d’un engagement démontré envers la mission de la CSMC, le conseil souhaite spécifiquement ajouter des compétences en droit, conformité, réglementation, comptabilité et / ou audit (la désignation CPA est grandement valorisée) dans le cadre de ce processus de recrutement.

Les membres du conseil de la CSMC sont responsables de maintenir la vision, la mission, le plan stratégique, les objectifs clés, le plan d’affaires et le budget de l’organisation. Ils veillent à la santé financière et à la transparence de l’organisation, au respect des lois et règlements applicables, et au maintien de l’efficacité, de la crédibilité et de la réputation collaborative de la CSMC.
