Our private, Canadian, family owned and operated client is looking to hire an Accounting Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader with a strong background in accounting and financial management to oversee and streamline accounting operations. A background in either Logistics or Manufacturing is a must , as this provides valuable industry insight to support the company's growth and financial goals. They will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning and analysis. As the Accounting Manager, you will lead a small team, drive process improvements, and play a critical role in financial decision-making within the company.
Please note : this position requires you to be in Ontario and in the local area, as this is an on-site position.

A plus benefits package Responsibilities :
Lead the Accounting department’s performance, including training, performance reviews, and addressing concerns.
Manage cash activities such as bank reconciliations, cash receipts, disbursements, collections, adjustments, and general journals to ensure adequate bank balances.
Oversee budgeting, cost analysis, inventory levels, labor, gross margins, and asset management.
Handle cost accounting and inventory management.
Prepare financial reports and monthly financial statements, including the quarterly profit-sharing report
Assist in capital financing negotiations and maintain banking covenants, ensuring quarterly borrowing base report preparation.
Coordinate with auditors for financial statement and pension fund audits.
Attend improvement meetings and complete related projects.
Provide backup for Accounting functions as needed.
Ensure ERP system compliance and productivity
Support Management with various requests.
Qualifications :
5+ years experience with a solid grasp on full-cycle accounting
Shop experience or industrial manufacturing background is a BIG asset
Logistics and / or costing background an asset
