Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced and safety-focused Plant Operator for a contract position to oversee and manage the operation of a Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) facility for our client in Christina Lake, AB. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of plant equipment and processes. This role requires a strong understanding of SAGD operations, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.

  • Shift : 8 DAYS ON, 6 DAYS OFF

  • Responsibilities :

  • Operate and troubleshoot facility equipment to meet production targets.
  • Perform condition monitoring, sample testing, and act on findings.
  • Conduct operational rounds and document actions taken in electronic logs.
  • Mentor and provide on-the-job training to new employees.
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance work using the Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedure.
  • Participate in safety audits, walkarounds, and ensure compliance with HSE policies.
  • Perform housekeeping activities and document corrective actions.
  • Conduct shift handover meetings to ensure smooth transition of responsibilities.
  • Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • Minimum two years of operating experience; SAGD experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate; 3rd Class is an asset.
  • Strong troubleshooting and team collaboration skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must pass pre-assignment Drug & Alcohol testing (safety-sensitive position
