Salary Range – $45,000 – $53,000

Full Time, Days (40 hours / week)

The Opportunity

Do you love collaboration, flexibility, and innovation? If so, join our team as an Instructor in our Social Innovation and Community Development training program that operates in partnership with Red River College Polytechnic. The SICD Instructor is responsible for providing post-secondary education that prepares adult learners for a career in the Community Development field. Our goal is to provide adult learners with a supportive, culturally safe and inclusive environment to thrive in.

What You Will Be Doing…

  • Two+ (2) years’ of experience in teaching or training adult learners, preferably in a vocational college setting or similar
  • Utilizing knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite such as Access, Word, Excel, Acrobat Adobe, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Demonstrating basic Accounting principles, familiarity with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
  • Developing, curating, and delivering lessons within hybrid learning
  • Knowledgeable and able to instruct in a variety of social service areas
  • Ability to deliver lesson plans and activities according to a curriculum, and able to pivot based on learners needs, abilities, and interests
  • Adapting to various learning styles in the classroom and use different modalities such as lectures, labs, land-based methods, and creative approaches
  • Evaluating student performance, grading, and revising content as required
  • Monitoring academic progress and providing feedback in a diplomatic and timely fashion
  • Classroom management to ensure a smooth and effective class for all attendees
  • Providing additional support to students in achieving goals and provide community-centered supports and resources if required
  • Participates with student and community events and activities

Who You Are :

  • Two+ (2) years’ of experience in teaching or training adult learners, preferably in a vocational college setting or similar
  • Post-Secondary Education in Education, Teaching for Life, is considered an asset
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
  • Dependable, approachable, adaptable and flexible
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, must thrive in a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to the strengths and values of Indigenous knowledge, cultural reclamation and traditional practices
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Dependable problem solver that enjoys critical thinking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite such as Access, Word, Excel, Acrobat Adobe, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Familiar with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms is considered an asset
  • Bondable and able to work in Canada
  • Have a Valid Manitoba Class 5 Drivers’ License and daily
