Job Description

The Chemical Sciences group at Paraza is seeking energetic, results-oriented individuals with proven track records of success to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate is expected to have extensive experience in modern medicinal chemistry. In addition, we are looking for individuals with abilities to analyze complete data sets, demonstrate sound decision-making and analytical skills and who are able to provide creative proposals and solutions to advance on-going projects.

The candidate will lead laboratory research, driving the conception, planning and execution of the scientific stages of research in drug discovery programs and may supervise others.

Key Responsibilities :

• Establish project strategy with input from supervisor. Design, execute and interpret complex laboratory experiments with broad priorities set by management or clients.
• Conceive and generate significant new ideas around synthetic or medicinal chemistry.
• Provide creative and innovative approaches to resolve research problems.
• May be responsible for the leadership of a project :
• Propose plans for the project
• Have a strategic view of the project
• Actively manage communication with clients
• Maximize team performance
• Understand scientific findings and translate them into non-scientific language, as required.
• Prepare proposals and presentations for management / clients, including issue identification and resolution.
• Conceive and write technical reports and manuscripts.
• Be a resource to colleagues within the function.
• Have a significant impact on department performance; drives department results.
• Ensure that laboratory safety and generally-accepted lab practices are implemented.
