The Logistics Handler is responsible for the managing duties related to the effective inventorying and distribution of all material, tools and equipment related items as required by our customers including; storage, repair, service, distribution, and scrap.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Safely plan and organise daily warehouse / distribution activities, taking into consideration all risk factors and conditions
- Safe operation of material handling equipment including counter-balance lift truck, reach truck, walkie / rider, rough terrain forklift, overhead cranes.
- Utilize SAP to update and research material requests
- Plan tool and material requirements from work orders, specifications, instructions and procedures
- Physically and systematically receives, packs, unpacks, stocks, loads, picks, issues, delivers all material, tools and equipment as required
- Manages safety equipment, tool crib, Personal Protective Equipment, clothing inventory and any other area related to material, tools and equipment
- Performs inventory counts, product inspection and Warehouse maintenance. Performs inventory control functions including ordering, expediting, and determining appropriate stock levels
- Arranges for equipment / tool testing, factory repairs and warranty repairs
- Receives, sorts and checks warehouse orders, and other related paperwork required to obtain material from the warehouse for accuracy, completeness and validity
- Organize material in outgoing staging area. Repalletizing orders as required
- Load and unload System vehicles
- Effectively organize and arrange for material shipments with external carriers
- Reconcile all material issues, returns and stock adjustments against reports. Performs clerical / administrative routines associated with the position.
- Update and prepare reports, records and documents pertaining to the position.
- Receive and satisfy inquiries / complaints by telephone, in person or by correspondence
- Operates a vehicle requiring a class DZ license and associated equipment related to the position
- Demonstrate safety awareness and adheres to all safety rules and regulations
REQUIREMENTS :
College diploma (Supply Chain / Operations preferred)Three - Five (3-5) years of work experience operating lift trucks and material managementMust currently hold a G license; and hold a DZ license or be able to successfully obtain DZ licenseMust currently hold or be able to successfully obtain and retain valid operator certificates for Counter Balance Forklifts, Narrow Aisle Reach Trucks and Overhead Cranes.Experience in SAP WMS, SAP ERP or other Warehouse Mgmt. systems would be an assetExperience in operating HIAB crane or Overhead crane would be an assetDemonstrated ability in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelAbility to multi-task, with strong customer service and troubleshooting skillsAdvanced communication skills, both written and verbalStrong problem solving and analytical skills; Demonstrated organizational and time management skillsDependability – is reliable and counted on to get the work done; able to work with limited supervisionCollaborating – builds positive relationships and interacts effectively with othersLeadership - shares relevant knowledge and experience and promotes morale, safety, and productivityCustomer Service and Trust – provides timely and effective services.
