Bayshore HealthCare’s Northern Nursing program has provided high-quality community health relief staffing services to Indigenous and Northern communities since 1997.
Our Nurses experience exciting assignments in Northern Canada's isolated, semi-isolated, and remote areas. Work closely with diverse Indigenous communities (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) providing care to community members in Canada’s remote Northern communities of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.
The work you will do :
- Consult with physicians and the Health Center Charge Nurse to work within an expanded scope of practice providing healthcare services to pre-natal and adult patients for trauma and primary care, including delivery of newborns, treating minor acute illnesses and injuries, and conducting general treatment clinics
- Apply the nursing process utilizing the skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching according to the established care plan.
- Ensure that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent within the scope of practice
- Utilize strong assessment skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and proven ability to effectively communicate to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent format
- Minimum 2 to 6-week assignments

Job Qualification
Who You Are :
- You are a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and have a nursing license through the governing body in good standing
- You have or are willing to obtain a nursing license through the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- You have (3000 hours) two (2) years of full-time experience in acute / critical care nursing activities in the : Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or in an acute care setting OR (3000 hours) two (2) years of full-time experience working in remote, isolated or semi-isolated communities as a Community Health Nurse
- You are confident and skilled to evaluate the need for further assessment outside of the community if necessary
- Mandatory skillsets and additional training requirements and reimbursements will be discussed during interview
