Financial Accountant

Our client is searching for a Financial Accountant to join their team. This role will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining various project budgets. A successful candidate will have strong customer service skills, including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :

• Coordinate and maintain operating project budget, capital projects, and grant schedules
• Prepare reporting for grants and intercompany transfers
• Prepare GST returns and record journal entries
• Reconcile monthly banks and balance sheet accounts
• Maintain capital asset register and purchase order register and expense accruals for the year-end
• Resolve any accounts receivable and accounts payable issues
• Verify and upload monthly rent role
• Assist with preparation of quarterly lead sheets and year end working papers and insurance claims
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly lead sheets and year end working papers and insurance claims
• Assist with project management billings and payments and US bank reconciliation
• Proactively identify and resolve any issues or reconciling items related to general ledger balance sheet accounts
• Additional reporting and reconciliation duties as required
