The Product Development Specialist reports to the Vice-President, Product Development and is responsible for assisting with the development of skin care products, from conception to launch. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of the cosmetic development process, a passion for skin care, be detail-oriented and work well with cross-functional teams. Eligible candidates must reside in the GTA. Duties & Responsibilities : Support the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, including conceptualization of product ideas, prototypes and tracking projects on a day-to-day basis Lead and own market, competitive, scientific and industry research relevant to the product development process.Assist in the development of product and packaging briefs, copy, artwork, formula feedback, budget and timelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (packaging, supply chain, marketing, sales, education, etc.) for product launch strategies including developing scope, deliverables, resource requirements, work plan, budget, and timing for new and existing products.Coordinate clinical and consumer claims testing processesLiaise with Regulatory to ensure compliance of product formula and claims for existing and emerging new marketsWorking with contract manufacturers and consulting chemists to develop formulations which will involve some travel Work internally to evaluate formula submissions and provide feedback and re-directs to R&D prior to submission. Actively coordinate and implement a comprehensive documentation timeline for each projectManage multiple projects simultaneously and communicate project status, progress, and risks to key stakeholders.
