About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Continuing Care, the Physiotherapist collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. Working within the community with individuals, families and groups, the physiotherapist assesses diagnoses and treats patients in the Community. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers with regard to health promotion and physiotherapy treatment. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistant(s) / rehab assistant(s).

The physiotherapist is based at various satellite offices travelling to client's homes throughout HRM and Hants County. The Physiotherapist is a member of the Community Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy Team at Continuing Care and liaises with Continuing Care, multidisciplinary care teams, and community and service providers.

About You

We would love to hear from you if have the following :

  • Graduation from a university with a degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • One year post graduation employed as a Physiotherapist required
  • Continuing education course in area of interest is an asset
  • Maintain current certification in CPR
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Community experience is preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required for home / community visits
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Part Time 80%, Short Assignment; 60 hours bi-weekly
  • Commencing July 28, ; Ending January
  • Dates are approximate and subject to change
  • Hours of work may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Compensation and Incentives

    33.97 - $42.89 hourly
