Job Summary
Reporting to the Utilities Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the configuration, installation, removal, programming and maintenance of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Controls / Automations Systems on the University Campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Installs, repairs, maintains, calibrates and commissions ventilation equipment, thermostats, sensors, controllers, variable speed drives and related controls equipment
- Configures , troubleshoots, installs and programs electronic controllers
- Performs preventive maintenance tasks on designated HVAC related equipment
- Programs building automation systems to meet occupancy needs while maximizing energy efficiency
- Services low voltage controls wiring
- Makes recommendations for upgrading, enhancing and / or retrofitting existing equipment
- Performs all duties in accordance with the current Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as University and Government rules and regulations
- Maintains a clean work environment
- Assists other tradespersons as required
- Performs other duties as required
Note
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.
