About Fueling Brains :

We love science, technology and education, but helping children is our true passion! We combine early learning with brain development research and assessments, curriculum, products and app technology into a unique educational brain development program.

Fueling Brains Academy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Care Aide to provide direct support to children in our Walden Academy. The Child Care Aide will assist in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment , working closely with educators to support children's development and well-being. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in childcare, early childhood education, or supporting children with developmental needs .

Position Details : Schedule & Hours :

Now until June 26, 2025 :

Monday to Friday : 8 : 30 AM – 12 : 30 PM

Total Weekly Hours : 20 hours / week

Summer Schedule (June 27 – September 1, 2025) :

Monday to Friday : 8 : 30 AM – 4 : 30 PM

Total Weekly Hours : 40 hours / week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Classroom & Child Support

Provide one-on-one and small group support to children, ensuring their safety, engagement, and participation in activities.

Assist with daily care routines, including dressing, toileting, diapering, feeding, and hygiene support.

Foster a calm, structured, and positive learning environment by supporting classroom routines and transitions.

Encourage social-emotional development and assist children in developing self-regulation and executive function skills.

Behavioral & Developmental Support

Observe and document child behavior, progress, and any concerns, reporting to the lead teacher or leadership team as needed.

Assist in implementing individualized support strategies for children with developmental delays, behavioral needs, or special requirements.

Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children in managing emotions and interactions.

Follow approved intervention strategies and, when necessary, assist with crisis intervention techniques as per Fueling Brains Academy guidelines.

Program & Classroom Preparation

Assist educators with preparing learning materials and classroom resources, ensuring they are ready for daily activities.

Support in organizing and maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting classroom environment.

Engage in interactive play and structured learning activities that align with Fueling Brains' educational approach.

Collaboration & Professionalism

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a seamless educational experience for children.

Communicate effectively with parents, team members, and leadership, maintaining a professional and positive demeanor.

Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and apply new strategies to support children"s diverse needs.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Education :

High School Diploma (required).

Preferred : Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level 1, Education Assistant Certificate, or Child and Youth Care Worker Diploma.

Additional training or certification in behavioral support, special education, or child development is an asset.

Experience :

Minimum 1 year experience working with children with developmental delays, special needs, or behavioral challenges (e.g., Autism, ADHD, ODD).

Experience in early childhood education, daycare, or inclusive learning environments.

Familiarity with positive behavior support strategies and developmental milestones.

Key Skills :

Strong patience, empathy, and understanding in working with children with diverse needs.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively with children, educators, and families.

Ability to adapt, take initiative, and follow structured routines.

Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.

Capacity to handle physical demands, including assisting with lifting children (up to 40 lbs).

Ability to take constructive feedback and implement strategies to improve support.

Additional Requirements

Current First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the last 6 months).

Successful completion of training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (preferred but not required).
