Our #1 value at Canfor is Safety and we make no exceptions in its pursuit. Our Emergency Response Technicians play a huge role in the day-to-day safe operations of our Mills. As our First Responders you will engage in high angle rescue, fire response, first aid calls, incident investigations, emergency response planning, and any number of other activities throughout your shift, and your career.
A Pulp Mill is a complex and potentially hazardous environment. You bring a keen eye for spotting hazards, exceptional work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and within teams. If you're done with mundane, the camp life, or a job where those around you just don't "get" safety...ask yourself if you're ready for change.
Emergency Response
- Responsible for all initial Emergency Response at the Canfor Pulp facilities including Fire, First Aid, Rescue and Hazmat. The Safety Team operates as the Incident Command and all ERC related support flows through the Advisor. The Safety Advisor is the first point of contact to external supports like the Prince George Fire Department, BCEHS, and RCMP.
- Responsible for the periodic inspections, maintenance and inventory of all Emergency Response equipment including those related to Fire, First Aid, Rescue and Hazmat
- The Safety Advisor team leads the Emergency Response Crew at each site. This includes but is not limited to conducting training, providing training plans, ensuring proficiency, monitoring equipment and leading the ERC in the event of an Emergency.

The salary range for this position is : $69,000.00-$86,000.00
