Job Description :
Our TorontoJobs.ca client, an esteemed investment firm based in downtown Toronto, seeks a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team.
Job Responsibilities :
Financial Reporting :
- Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including associated notes, for various entities.
- Compile financial information from partners for integration into investor statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Accounting, Audit, Tax :
- Review general ledger accounts and bank reconciliations for accuracy.
- Develop expertise in real estate accounting.
- Coordinate annual audits and prepare relevant documentation.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance.
Treasury :
- Review management and administration fee schedules.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Execute tax and intercompany payments.
- Manage cash balance reporting and forecast investment cash requirements.
- Prepare investor capital call and distribution proposals.
Special Projects, Communication & Other Responsibilities :
- Analyze and propose improvements to accounting processes.
- Mentor and develop junior staff.
- Maintain communication with partners, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks and support role expansion initiatives.
Desired Skill Set / Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Enrollment in or completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program preferred.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
