Job Summary
The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting with the facilitation of youth programs, assisting with registration, pre / post program preparations and helping to build connections with youth participants.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or 2-3 years related experience in a community setting
- Related experience in a community setting and community programs.
- Experience working with children and youth in a community setting is a strong asset
- Experience working with diverse communities, and knowledge of related community resources
- Fluency in English essential, fluency in other languages also desirable
- Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications
- Valid First Aid and CPR (level C) required to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check required
Job Specific Responsibilities :
- Assist in implementing community-based youth programs as assigned
- Provide information about community resources to community members
- Perform administrative duties related to the programs as delegated
- Participate as an active team member in staff meetings
- Support Community Workers, Student Parent Support Workers, Program Facilitators and volunteers
- Assist with the operation of evening and afterschool programming as appropriate
- Other related duties as assigned
