Interior Health is looking for an experienced Business Partner, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to join our team on a full time permanent basis.

This position has a flexible work location from in within the Interior Health region.

Salary :

Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

About the job :

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Business Partner, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) oversees and organizes all major components necessary to advance DEI initiatives across Interior Health (IH).

Responsible for developing, executing, and managing related programs within the DEI Framework, the Business Partner works to embed related principles and practices across the entire employee life cycle to develop a cultural of belonging and enable equitable and inclusive workplace experiences.

Participating on teams, projects and events that have DEI application, the Business Partner works to provide professional guidance and expertise in the areas of DEI through meaningful employee engagement and continuous measurement of employee perspectives on workplace cultures and feelings of workplace inclusion.

The Business Partner serves as a champion, strategic partner, and thought leader for DEI by staying informed of research, best practices, and benchmarks, and developing relevant approaches in alignment IH’s strategic priorities.

Typical duties and responsibilities :

  • Leads projects and programs related to operationalizing the DEI Framework and collaborates with key partners across IH to support initiatives that aim to build a sense of belonging for all employees.
  • Translates the latest in global DEI research trends, data insights, and approaches to design programs that enable an equitable and inclusive employee lifecycle.
  • Enables a data-informed approach to DEI through the use of various tools and technology to capture employee perspectives on workplace culture, feelings of workplace inclusion, and levels of employee engagement.
  • Develops and refines tactics to collect and promote the disclosure of related self-identification data to understand workforce representation opportunities, which will provide foundations for DEI strategies and initiatives to support current and future employee populations.
  • Oversees related employee collaboration efforts, such as Employee Voices and various employee resource groups, to foster connection and alignment with overall DEI approach and initiatives.
  • Supports the creation and implementation of IH’s inaugural Accessibility Plan to remove barriers and improve access for employees identifying with a disability, including neurodiversity and invisible disabilities.
  • Oversees the development and review of new and existing policies to support historically marginalized and underrepresented groups and enable employment equity across IH.
  • Develops, coordinates, and facilitates training sessions and educational materials for individuals, groups, and IH to create an informed, educated, and skilled workforce capable of navigating various DEI-related topics.
  • Partners with health authorities and colleagues across HR and other portfolios to enable compliance and implementation with current and future DEI-related provisions in collective agreements, codes, and other legislative requirements as needed.
  • Develops and manages effective working relationships across all levels of IH, the community and the province with whom work needs to be coordinated or interfaced.
  • Reviews and responds to individual, team, and leader requests for support and advice on DEI-related topics and experiences.
  • In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training.

Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
