CHC has an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Aircraft Lifecycle Accounting . This can be based in either Richmond, BC Canada or Aberdeen, UK.
They will oversee the accounting for a global leader in the vertical aviation industry. This position will work closely with all areas of accounting and finance and liaise with divisions to provide guidance on proper accounting treatment for expenditures and other departments requesting information.
The ideal candidate will have extensive fixed asset accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with divisions providing guidance on proper accounting treatment for expenditures
- Liase with departments requesting reporting information
- Work using guidance standards as it relates to : Property, plant, equipment and other assets as it relates toAccounting for Internal Use SoftwareAirline Accounting GuideSale lease back accounting GuideNon Aircraft Leasing accounting treatment (IFRS & US GAAP
- Prepare / amend memos and policies as required
- Review / prepare / monitorMonthly Cash flow and Capex reportsGain / Loss analysisMonthly / Quarterly / Annual variance analysisNote disclosuresMonthly reconciliationsFixed asset suspense accountsJournal Entries postings
- Assist with audit requirements for note disclosures, management reporting and fixed asset narrative
- Contribute towards process improvement initiatives
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
- At least 5-10 years experience in Fixed Asset Accounting, preferably in an international environment.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- International organization experience preferred.
- Experience using large ERP system required.
- Highly self motivated and exceptional team player.
- Ability to multi task and manage a fast paced and diverse work flow
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products, specifically MS Excel and MS Word
