What- the Role :
Due to continued business growth and new product launches, our client is in need of a new senior-level resource on their tax team.
The new Senior Tax Manager (permanent, full-time) will be responsible for a well-rounded portfolio including US tax (all the states!) and Canadian tax (all the provinces!) direct tax, indirect tax, income tax, sales tax, excise tax, tax compliance, tax returns, M&A tax support, etc.
Lots of variety! The new Tax Manager ensure compliance with the massive global tax reform being rolled out under Pillar Two .
Reporting into the Vice-President of Global Tax and working alongside Tax Managers and Tax Analysts. This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work and who is eager to learn new taxation skills with a successful, entrepreneurial, well-managed, and very high-growth company.
Who- the Candidate :
We are looking for a tax professional who is a team player and who enjoys taking on a variety of tasks depending on departmental needs.
- Qualified candidates will have at least 8 years of relevant and progressive taxation work experience , with at least some of those years in industry .
- Deep expertise in multi-state US taxation is required (the more states, the better!)
- Multi-provincial Canadian taxation is highly preferred (the more provinces, the better!)
- CPA designation and completion of all levels of the In-Depth Tax program is required.
- Familiarity with Pillar Two.
- Experience using an ERP and proficiency with Excel and tax preparation software is required.
- Qualified candidates for this role will be both hands-on and strategic, and able to keep an eye on the details while keeping in mind the big picture.
- Excellent communication skills and relationship building abilities are crucial in this role.
How Much :
This company provides a very generous total compensation package including a performance-based bonus, an RRSP match, a generous deferred profit-sharing program, and a customizable health benefits plan.
The base salary will be commensurate with experience- for now the range is likely $130,000 to $155,000, with the top end reserved for candidates with a very relevant 8 to 10 years of experience.
If you are more senior than this (10+ years robust International Tax experience) and seeking over $150,000 base salary, please still apply as there is a possibility of this role being upgraded in short to medium term.
Where :
Based in the company’s beautiful Vancouver head office- accessible by car, bike, walking, bus, and SkyTrain. After training and onboarding, the Sr Tax Mgr can choose to work from home 1-2 days a week.
