Position Summary
The Desk Agent (internally known as Admin Assistant I) role is responsible for providing support to building security and operations teams, employees and guests.
This position will deliver exceptional customer service to employees, guests and contractors when they arrive onsite and check in at the designated area.
This role supports in employee and contractor access to building and event spaces, radios, keys, lockers and various other assets as required.
The position available is a casual-part-time position that will require the successful candidate to work flexible hours throughout the week.

Key Accountabilities
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to :
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all guests, employees and suppliers / contractors.
- Distribute, track, and receive keys, access cards, radios to employees and contractors as per operating procedure.
- Oversee Visitor Management tracking including employee, contractor, and supplier check in.
- Implement new process and service standard initiatives.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service to be a positive representative for the Calgary Stampede.
- Follow organizational and departmental Standard Operating Procedures and ensure these procedures are adhered to by others.
- Knowledge of and execution of emergency response procedures when required.
- Liaise with & develop working relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming Park events and activities to provide information and general assistance to employees, volunteers, and visitors.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma
- Minimum one year of related experience in customer service
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to manage difficult situations in a controlled and effective manner.
- Effective problem solving, and conflict resolution skills are essential
- Excellent written, verbal skills and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to multitask and handle confrontational encounters
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in team environments
Working Conditions
- This position requires both stationary desk work and standing for counter service.
- Continuous, repetitive arm, hand and finger movements. Reaching, bending, carrying and stair climbing. Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, odor, animal dander and changes in temperature.
Occasional lifting, pushing / pulling up to 25 lbs. Adequate visual, sensory and auditory acuity is required.
- Shift work, including evenings and weekends will be required.
- The ability to stand for short periods of time will be required.
- Viewing of computer monitors on a frequent basis.
