PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Participate in strategic and tactical planning sessions;
- Plan and lead management team meetings and guide Managers to ensure that unit objectives are achieved;
- Prepare, maintain and report on unit operational plans including : strategic, tactical, budgetary, utilization and profitability of unit operations, and plan and implement processes optimization plans;
- Assist with managing budget to include profit and loss responsibility, including approval and monitoring of purchasing, contracting, expenses, and may manage vendor relationships;
- Prepare / review and submit monthly billing reports for client invoicing;
- Project strategic management and client account management;
- Participation and support to the Corporate office on various projects;
- In conjunction with senior leadership provide strategic direction to all managers and team members, to further enhance existing programs and have responsibility for attaining established new business objectives, with particular attention on growth;
- Present to the executive Lead Team as required and requested during Plan-to-Performance (P2P) meetings;
- Assist with developing, present (for approval), implement and tracking performance for strategic and tactical annual plans related to all revenue and expenses associated with Specialty Services operations;
- Undertake the primary role in establishing / assigning appropriate account management implementation;
- Participate in the enhancement of the overall business : Forecasting, New Business development, Internal and External communication (Key account Management), efficiencies, staffing and client services;
- Assist with establishing goals for business unit growth, attract new business, and create innovative business expansion and / or new services;
- Develop performance standards for business unit Managers and measure success against performance standards;
- Assist with proposal writing, contracting, client presentations, and pricing;
- Stay abreast of industry trends and important pending legislation impacting our business;
- Identify and collaborate with internal and external resources and experts;
- Develop plans for structuring and staffing of unit and review and revise plans based on changes in demand;
- Provide on-going management, annual performance reviews, objective setting and training plans for all direct reports;
- Provide leadership to Program Manager Team and participate in supporting development of product teams, as required;
Overall responsibility for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of all services; and
Identify areas for risk and foster proactive, continued quality improvement.
Responsible to report all Adverse Events to the assigned units / departments
The Senior Manager, Programs will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- University science / healthcare degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in management;
- Minimum 1-2 years client management experience;
- Knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of post-marketing studies, Health Canada and / or risk management programs;
- General knowledge of reimbursement and patient assistance programs, operational policies and processes, and clinical research;
Bilingual (French / English) an asset.

The successful candidate may have daily contacts with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients or peers from cross-functional teams.
