My client is a growing mid-sized manufacturing operation with multiple divisions and its head office located in Mississauga.
Your new role
The Senior Accountant will provide accounting support to one of their divisions, and overtime will evolve to provide business partnering support.
The Senior Accountant has responsibility for the full accounting cycle and ensuring application of thepany’s accounting policies.
- The key areas of responsibility include;
- Prepare monthly financial statements including Balance sheets, ie statements, cash flow reporting and consolidated reporting
- Review monthly reconciliations prepared by the Senior accountant and Office manager. These include bank, prepaids, and accounts payable.
- Reconcile and maintain high-risk Balance Sheet accounts monthly including bank inventory,
accruals and unearned revenue.
- Oversee the processes related to employee expenses including supporting the implementation of an expense reporting tool and training employees for ECR.
- Review ofernment remittances, credit card entries and journal entries as prepared by bookkeeping support
- Manage full cycle of Accounts Receivable including billing, issuance of credit memos and reconciling AR Balances.
- Working closely with operations and sales to determine shipments for hold or release according topany’s risk policies, credit terms and use of sound business judgement.
- Provide monthly analysis on consolidated jobs margin.
- Take a leadership role in annual budget preparation with coaching from VP Finance.
- Prepare Quarterly detailed forecast for revenue, payroll and other key expense areas.
- With guidance and oversight from the VP Finance, oversee year-end review engagement, banking relationship and other agreements related to business, legal and insurance as required
- Ensurespliance with sales tax, statutory tax and payroll tax requirements including remittances and reporting.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have 3-5+ years Accounting / finance experience including full cycle accounting experience. You will have worked within a manufacturing / distributionpany where you have accounted for inventory.
You will either be working towards or hold apleted Canadian CPA designation, or other equivalent international designation(ACCA, ACA, US CPA).
They are also open to a candidate making a move in to industry from a public accounting firm, that’spleted the CPA CFE, with 3-4 + years experience, and has exposure to inventory through work with their clients.
The position is highly interactive and requires strongmunication and interpersonal skills. You will have experience utilizing an ERP system.
You will have a high attention to detail, possess strong analytical skills and have an aptitude for learning new systems.
