Reporting to and working under the general direction of the Assistant Dean, Student Services and Registrar, the Indigenous Students Access Project Administrator is responsible for raising the FIFSW’s profile amongst Indigenous communities within Ontario and Canada in order to increase the Indigenous student population within the MSW programs, by providing support from pre-application to admission and student success within the program.

This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline .

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Conducting detailed data analysis to inform recruitment strategies and plans
  • Fostering and maintaining a network of external contacts to support recruitment strategies
  • Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and / or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Planning and implementing components of curricular and / or co-curricular programs and activities
  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
  • Conducting a detailed analysis of student feedback and learning outcomes to inform program planning activities

Essential Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years of experience in student recruiting and / or administering student programs in a post-secondary setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working in / collaborating with national Indigenous agencies, indigenous communities and / or agencies across Canada.
  • Demonstrated experience positive relationships with prospective students and external contacts to support recruitment strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing and managing outreach initiatives.
  • Experience planning and implementing components of curricular and / or co-curricular programs and activities.
  • Must have an understanding of the social services field and / or social work education.
  • Experience conceptualizing, organizing and executing events.
  • Proven ability to coordinate a variety of projects, deadlines and schedules simultaneously, and ability to independently prioritize own work flow.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working effectively, professionally and personably with a diverse pool of students, applicants, faculty and staff with a demonstrated ability to provide excellent student centric programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong initiative and judgment skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and work environment.
  • Highly developed computer skills including experience with MS Office suite.
  • Demonstrated highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill.
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to travel, occasional overtime on evenings and weekends.

Assets (Nonessential) :

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and personalities (members of the University and corporate communities, students, etc.).
  • Experience with and / or demonstrated working knowledge of admissions and recruiting, preferably in an academic environment.

USW Pay Band 12 $79,874. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $102,147. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation / Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
