Educational Assistant - Early Learning Services - Busby School

Pembina Hills School Division requires an Educational Assistant with Early Learning Services in Busby School . The successful candidate must be a flexible and self-directed team player who is interested in working with children with diverse needs in the preschool program.

Hours of work will be Monday and Wednesday, 3.5 hours / day, 7 hours / week, following the school calendar. This position starts November 25, 2024 and ends June 5, 2025 .

The Division

Pembina Hills School Division provides education to approximately 3800 students in 15 community schools in north central Alberta.

PHSD also provides education to over 10,000 students from within and beyond our borders, through our online school, Vista Virtual School.

Early Learning

Our Early Learning Programs are for 3 to 4 year-old children who have moderate or complex needs. In small, play-based settings, children receive instruction in specific skills.

Qualifications / Requirements

Experience with children with complex needs

Familiar with and experience in early intervention

An understanding of early childhood development and experience and training in working with preschool children with developmental disabilities

Able to work as a member of a preschool team

Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed

Experience with speech language support and behavioural issues an asset

First Aid would be an asset
