Learn more at https : / / www.jnj.com / . Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Canada is recruiting for a Senior Manager of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, located in Toronto (at least 3 days in office per week).

The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs is primarily responsible for providing effective strategic counsel, as well as leading and implementing communications and public affairs activities, including issues management and policy communications, in our Innovative Medicine business in Canada.

In this role, the individual will lead and support the development and execution of integrated and multidisciplinary strategies to make business conditions more amenable to the company's objectives while addressing issues that span the Canadian pharmaceuticals sector, in addition to other accountabilities as assigned.

This role reports to the Director, Communications and Public Affairs Canada.

The position will work closely with colleagues across the department, in Canada and internationally, and in close partnership with the Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Market Access, Government Affairs and Commercial teams. Key Responsibilities :

  • Conceiving and driving novel, compelling public affairs initiatives and strategies for J&J to effectively contribute to policy conversations and optimize operating conditions
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the Canadian media landscape and the broader public conversations about healthcare and the life sciences.

Also finding and creating opportunities for J&J to productively contribute

  • Serving as single point of contact for all media relations, and collaborating with colleagues to provide effective counsel to the Canadian Innovative Medicine business
  • Collaborating with Government Affairs, Stakeholder Engagement, and other teams in protecting and amplifying the reputation of Johnson & Johnson in Canada
  • Building strong relationships with media, influencers, think tanks, patient advocates, policymakers, key opinion leaders, and others who seek policy changes conducive to improving access to innovative medicines
  • Leading and overseeing the work of agencies in delivering on plans and strategies
  • Providing functional communications support in the management of critical incidents Education :
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a comparable field is required Experience and Skills : Required :
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Communications or Public Affairs, preferably working in healthcare consulting, government, or the pharmaceutical industry
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful working relationships with senior executives
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and leading through influence
  • Expert judgment in critical decision making on issues impacting corporate reputation
  • Proven track records in simultaneously managing multiple projects and changing priorities Preferred :
