CIVIL PROJECT MANAGER
12 Month Contract (with chance of extension)
THE OPPORTUNITY :
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of major infrastructure initiatives in the ports and terminals sector.
In this role, you will oversee the entire project lifecycle from planning, permitting, and stakeholder consultation to procurement, engineering design, construction, and commissioning.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY :
- Providing leadership and representing the organization throughout the entire lifecycle of terminal infrastructure projects.
- Leading the planning, permitting, consultation, procurement, engineering design, construction, and commissioning of complex terminal infrastructure projects.
- Developing the project scope, schedule, and budget, including appropriate cost escalation and risk estimates to remain reliable throughout the project timeline.
- Organizing and leading workshops with Terminal Operations, Technology, Safety, and Security teams to align on project performance and technical requirements to meet current and future business needs.
- Managing RFQ and RFP documentation and taking a leadership role in selecting and coordinating consultants and contractors.
- Taking responsibility for project delivery schedules and resource planning.
- Managing the procurement and completion of site investigations, topographic surveys, and other environmental, permitting, consultation, or pre-construction activities.
- Representing the business and maintaining collaborative relationships with port authorities, First Nations, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Providing leadership to instill the organization’s principles across projects.
- Ensuring all project work is being completed in accordance with the organization’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies.
- Managing internal project reporting and providing regular updates to the Leadership Team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in civil or marine infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in planning, permitting, procurement, design, supervision, commissioning, and contract administration for projects over $5M.
- PMP certification, P.Eng registration in BC, construction management certification, or equivalent credentials.
- Strong leadership skills to develop, motivate, and support teams while fostering positive relationships.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills for cross-departmental collaboration and external representation.
- Sound judgement and analytical thinking for effective decision-making.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing stakeholders.
- Skilled in building relationships, securing buy-in, and driving ownership of quality standards.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, regulations, best practices, and safety standards.
- Ability to maintain long-term strategic vision from project initiation to completion.
