Responsibilities :
- Develop technical drawings and 3D models adhering to established standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with the team to materialize innovative architectural designs.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Adapt to a high-speed working environment while upholding the quality of work.
- Contribute to team discussions and provide insightful input on projects.
- Assist with site analysis, including surveying and field measurements.
- Assist the Principal Architect with construction meetings and reports.
- Liaise with consultants and contractors to ensure design intent and quality of work.
- Support the Principal Architect with all aspects of architectural projects.
- Maintain availability during business hours regardless of geographical location or personal work schedule.
Qualifications :
- Degree in architecture or a related field or substantial industry experience in the absence of a degree.
- Proficiency in 3D modelling software (NURBS) and other relevant architectural tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle direct communication and constructive feedback.
- Proven capability to manage technical aspects of architectural projects.
- Open-mindedness, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to team discussions.
- Passion for solving complex puzzles.
- Ability to strike a balance between professionalism and personability.
Desirable Skills :
- Proficiency in Vectorworks
- Proficiency in VBBL 2019 and BCBC2024
- Project Management
- Design Aspirations to lead their own design projects
- Interest in emerging AI technologies and efficiency enhancement ideas.
- Entrepreneurial aspirations or business acumen.
- Must be registered with the AIBC or eligible to register with the AIBC
- Strong attention to detail

Hiring Process : At Longpre Architecture, we believe that building the right team is paramount. We value transparency and want to ensure that candidates know what to expect from our 4 stage hiring process :
Candidates will initially be evaluated based on their responses to pre-screening questions, the quality of their portfolio, and their work experience as presented in their resume, in that order.
We will only contact those who align with our values and demonstrate promising design and technical skills.
- Successful candidates will be invited for a 30-minute video call interview with David Longpre. Successful candidates will be asked to proceed to an interview panel.
- The panel interview will be conducted via video call and will involve David Longpre and two of his colleagues.
- Candidates who reach the final stage will be given a 24-hour design assignment. We use this assignment to gain a deeper understanding of your design and technical capabilities and how you approach architectural challenges and communication.
