Matchbox Consulting group are currently seeking an Intermediate Architectural Technologist on behalf of one of our clients, a Vancouver-based architectural firm known for its experience in various sectors, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
The main focus of this role is on the design and development of wood-frame multifamily residential projects, typically ranging from 4 to 6 stories.
Key Responsibilities :
- Produce detailed architectural drawings in Revit for residential and commercial projects, with a focus on wood-frame multifamily residential developments (4-6 stories) and commercial buildings.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and municipal staff.
- Manage project schedules, deadlines, and documentation.
- Mentor junior staff and collaborate with the project team.
- Participate in client meetings and site visits, providing technical insights and ensuring designs are implemented effectively during construction phases.
Requirements :
- 5+ years of experience in the Canadian Architectural Industry (BC experience is an asset), with a focus on building technology for wood frame, multifamily residential, and commercial (office / retail) projects.
- Proficient in producing detailed drawings using Revit for various project types.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective coordination with clients, consultants, and municipal staff.
- Experience mentoring junior technologists.
- Knowledge of BC Building Code (Part 3 & 9) and ASHRAE 90.1 (NECB understanding is an asset).
- Completion of a certified Building Technology or Architectural program from a recognized institution.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or within a project team.
