Clinician - Mobile Crisis Team - Casual for Varied Shifts

SUMMARY :

As a member ofthe Mobile Crisis Team and in collaboration with all components of theYouth Crisis Stabilization System, the Mobile Crisis Team Clinician provides crisisintervention services to youth, their families and caregivers in aprofessional manner.

The Mobile Crisis Team Clinician assesses, plans and formulatesrecommendations toward the resolution of the crisis and its underlining orprecipitating factors.

PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES :

• Answer crisis line, assess and provide interventions in the community and referrals when necessary;
• Observeto identify potential underlining cause of crisis situation and subsequentlyprovide on-site intervention including mental health and risk assessments,mental status exams, safety plans, and follow-up plans for youths and theirfamilies / caregivers in crisis situations;
• Completerequired documentation, provide clear and concise professionally written reports which detailthe nature of the crisis and subsequent assessments and plans;
• Referyouth and caregiver(s) to suitable resources and advocate on their behalfif required;
• Engage families in the resolution process, whenever possible;
• As ateam member, provide support to other team members and act in a consultativecapacity;
• Providetriage and referral;
• Provideconsultation to collateral agencies such as Children's Mental Health, Child andFamily Services, schools, probation, and police services;
• Facilitatetopic-specific training sessions as needed to assist the staff team indeveloping skills to implement treatment plans;
• Workin consultation with other Youth Crisis Stabilization System staff and external agencies, to ensurecontinuity and communication throughout Youth Crisis Stabilization System;
• Representthe Youth Crisis Stabilization System program both within and outside of The Link;
• Maintainopen communication within the agency and fulfill administrative duties asassigned;
• Maintainclinical / professional development through reading, attending workshops and peerand clinical consultation on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS :

The successful candidate should demonstrate the following competencies which incorporate the Seven Sacred Teachings.

• Undergraduatedegree in Human Services or accreditation from a governing Human ServicesCollege (e.g. RSW), a combination ofeducation and experience may be considered;
• Minimumof four (4) years work experience in a supervised clinical setting
• EmergencyFirst Aid and CPR Level C, or willingness to obtain
• SatisfactoryCriminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child AbuseRegistry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks and a clear Adult AbuseRegistry check, all done within the last 3 months;
• ASISTCertificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
• Crisis De-escalation Training
• Knowledgeof Indigenous customs, traditions, and beliefs will be considered an asset
• Valid drivers license and acceptable drivers abstract (subject to approval)
• Access to a vehicle for work purposes is required

SALARY : $24.00 - $26.00 per hour based on experience and education.

HOURS OF WORK : Variety of hours and shifts, including days, evenings, weekends,overnight shifts and holidays.
