SUMMARY :

As amember of the Mobile Crisis Team and in collaboration with all componentsof the Youth Crisis Stabilization System, the Mobile Crisis Team Clinician providescrisis intervention services to youth, their families and caregivers in aprofessional manner.

The Mobile Crisis Team Clinician assesses, plans and formulatesrecommendations toward the resolution of the crisis and its underlining orprecipitating factors.

PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Answer crisis line, assess and provide interventions in the community and referrals when necessary.
  • Observe to identify potential underlining cause of crisis and subsequently provide on-site intervention including mental healthand risk assessments, mental status exams, safety plans, and follow-up plansfor youth and their families / caregivers in crisis situations.
  • Complete required documents, provide clear and concise professionallywritten reports which detail the nature of the crisis and subsequentassessments and plans.
  • Refer youth, families and caregiver(s) to suitable resources andadvocate on their behalf if required.
  • Engage families in the resolution process, wheneverpossible.
  • As a team member, provide support to other team members andact in a consultative capacity.
  • Provide triage and referral.
  • Provide consultation to collaterals such asChildren's Mental Health, Child and Family Services, schools, probation, andpolice services.
  • Facilitate topic-specific training sessions as needed toassist the staff team in developing skills to implement treatment plans.
  • Work in consultation with other Youth Crisis Stabilization System staff and externalagencies, to ensure continuity and communication throughout Youth Crisis Stabilization System.
  • Represent the Youth Crisis Stabilization System program both within and outside of The Link.
  • Maintain open communication within the organization and fulfilladministrative duties as assigned.
  • Maintain clinical / professional development through reading,attending workshops and peer and clinical consultation on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Services or accreditation froma governing Human Services College (e.g., RSW), a combination of education andexperience may be considered.
  • Minimum of four (4) years work experience in a supervisedclinical setting.
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C, or willingness toobtain.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable SectorSearch, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checksand a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last 3 months.
  • ASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention SkillsTraining).
  • Crisis De-escalation Training.
  • Valid drivers license, acceptable drivers abstract and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and beliefswill be considered an asset.

Valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle is a requirement for this position

SALARY RANGE : $53,175.01 - $74,651.25

HOURS OF WORK : 80 hoursbiweekly with varied shifts including : days, evenings, weekends and holidays. .
