Reports to : Retail Director

Number of Direct Reports : up to 25 Store Managers

Key Internal Partners : Retail Operations Team, Field / Street Leadership Team, Human Resources, Retail Supply Chain Team, Marketing Department

Key External Partners : External Vendors

Location : Remote location

Salon Centric is the premier national distributor of salon professional products in the U.S. Created by L’Oréal USA in with SalonCentric stores and StateǀRDA stores in the US.

The District Manager motivates and inspires the Store Management teams to create an environment that ensures an exceptional customer experience according to SalonCentric standards.

They will manage the day-to-day operations within a specific market of multiple stores, which includes recruitment, development, performance management and retention of top talent, compliance towards safety standards, inventory levels and shrinkage monitoring, labor hours efficiency, marketing campaigns implementation.

Key responsibilities :

Drive Sales, profitability and best in class customer experience

o Develop and lead the execution of the district business plan to drive Omni channel sales results and key performance indicators.

o Conduct effective and regular stores visits (virtual in and in person) with an emphasis on the internal and external customer experience, while interacting with the customer on the sales floor and observing selling behaviors

o Drive customer loyalty and new customer recruitment by creating an inspiring and engaging customer experience

o Lead with an entrepreneurial spirit that inspires out of the box thinking and shop owner mentality to impact business results

o Knows and manages the business through effective use of all sales and financial reports

o Act as a liaison between the Store team and the Support Center by providing insights and feedback to enable sales growth and revenue generating ideas

Recruit, onboard and train Top Talent with in our team

o Execute and support SalonCentric talent strategy including consistent networking, recruitment and succession planning, while mentoring and developing internal talent

o Act as a coach to the store managers and as a resource to each store employee to help inspire the success of each store

o Ensure that all teams are trained according to SalonCentric selling standards, product knowledge, Company guidelines and adhere to Company standards of integrity and ethics

Demonstrate high level of Leadership

o Takes personal accountability for delivering results

o Foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration across all departments

o Lead with honesty, integrity, humility and demonstrates the SalonCentric core values

o Prioritize store performance issues, and immediately address any lapses in compliance with corporate policies or local, Provincial and federal laws or loss of store profitability

o Be an effective listener that inspires trust and respect of direct reports

o Able to effectively lead through and adapt to change

Oversee Merchandising and Operations

o Achieve Company controllable business objectives including : sales, profitability, shrink, payroll, and schedule review to ensure labor hours don’t outpace sales within their assigned stores

o Achieve proper standards of safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and organization in all stores

o Undertake responsibility for all store openings, re-opening of renovations and closing of all retail locations within the market.

Additionally, partner with related departments, to implement plans for opening promotions, recruitment and training

o Responsible for ensuring the execution of all company visual and operational standards in order to provide an exceptional customer experience environment

All other duties or projects as assigned

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS :

Sales performance, conversion, customer recruitment / retention, employee retention, time to fill, payroll hour distribution and control management, inventory management

Qualifications and skills :

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree or similar work experience in retail business field

EXPERIENCE

  • Progressive retail experience
  • Management experience
  • Multi-unit retail experience and / or equivalent sales volume management experience required
