ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITIY
The Ottawa Region is seeking a full-time Electrical Project Coordinator who must be skilled, detail oriented, and result focused.
The Electrical Project Coordinator will be responsible for institutional and industrial projects. Duties to include planning, organizing, coordinating and supporting technical work flow on assigned construction projects related to the electrical and mechanical field.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Project Manager.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Assist the Project Manager to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications;
- Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines;
- Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors;
- Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impacts;
- Build and maintain customer and supplier / vendor relationships;
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients;
- Trade and subcontractor coordination;
- Document control;
- Purchase supplies and materials as required to complete project;
- Ensure site is operating in accordance with health, safety and environmental standards.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A College Diploma in Construction or Engineering Technology or a University Degree in Engineering is required
The following certifications / designations are considered an asset
- Construction safety certifications
- Experience in the electrical trade may substitute for education requirements.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 1-3 year experience in the construction industry considered an asset
- Experience in drafting practices for electrical and mechanical building systems is an asset.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Project and Outlook
- Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
- Ability to establish a strong working relationship with co-workers, vendors and clients
