PERT is a nonprofit organization that seeks to address the employability issues faced by English-speaking Quebecers. Since our founding in 2020, we have developed a research and engagement agenda in collaboration with stakeholders across Québec who are working to improve the labour market outcomes of English speakers.

Primary Responsibilities
Reporting to the Communications & Engagement Director, the successful candidate will support PERT's communications efforts and policy strategy.
The Copywriter will help expand PERT’s capacity to discuss relevant issues related to economic development, the labour market, job skills, language training, regional disparities in employment, and federal, provincial and municipal policy choices affecting the employability of English-speaking Quebecers.
This role will focus primarily on the production of op-eds, press releases, policy briefs, newsletters, blogs, and cases for support.
Our ideal candidate has the following skills and experience
- A university degree or equivalent experience in journalism, communications, public relations, political science, marketing or a related field
- Outstanding verbal and written communications, proofreading and editing skills in English and the ability to convey messages through clear and concise writing
- Energized to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to manage several priorities and meet tight deadlines
- A self-starter who communicates diplomatically, and works well in a team environment
- Rigorous and detail-oriented in conducting their work
- Strong commitment to integrity in the fact-checking process
- Able to work independently
Other Qualifications, Skills and / or Abilities that are not necessary, but are assets for the role
- Strong written skills in French, or translating from English to French
- Experience working in the nonprofit sector, government, or in an community organization
- Knowledge of the Quebec employability landscape and / or experience in employment and employability programming
- Knowledge of Official Language Minority Community landscape and experience working with the Quebec English-speaking community

- Pay : Commensurate with experience.
