Job descriptionVue would be ideal since that’s what their web apps are built in. Strong unit testing. Knowledge / experience with Automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.). Experience with modern web apps. Prior experience leading teams or involved in strategy. Candidates that come from smaller companies, where teams are not as defined (i.e. Developer that has to do design, development, testing, deployments, etc.). Open to candidates that come from a development background, but the past 2 years has been in Automation that can work. Wants them to have recent development experience. First Round : 30 minutes with Hiring Manager - Understand background, communication skills, etc. Second Round : 1 hour - Dev Director + Dev Manager + Automation Lead.
Location : Hybrid Downtown Toronto, Ontario – onsite 1-2 days a week
Terms : 6 month contract, contract to Hire (conversion to FTE)
Hours : 37.5 hours / week Monday-Friday, 9 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm
Job Description :
The Digital Technology Automation Testing team is dedicated to ensuring the quality of our flagship client-facing applications. The bank’s team leads the ongoing transformation of our QA testing processes to use cutting edge tools and technologies to increase our level of test automation working hand-in-hand with our Development and Business partners. We are currently seeking a Senior Automation Development Consultant who will provide technical leadership and guidance with a Quality Engineering mindset.
This senior resource sets and leads the Test Automation strategy within Digital Technology. This will be an individual contributor role but experience leading teams is important. They must have hands-on Development experience with modern web-based applications and should bring a Quality Engineering mindset to the team.
Responsibilities :
- This individual will help form, lead, and implement CIBC's test automation transformation.
- Be disruptive, help change the way they do things, and bring in a new way of thinking.
- Will work E2E (design, coding, testing, deploying).
- Will work on Web and Mobile applications.
- Responsible for designing new automation frameworks, as well as enhancements to them.
- There might be some hands-on coding, but that is not their day-to-day.
- Focus on Automation strategy across the company.
