About Us :
GeologicAI is a fast-growing technology company developing and deploying exciting new technologies for the energy and mining sectors. We build innovative geological robots that scan rocks, train AI to analyze the scan data, and make groundbreaking software that makes all our results incredibly useful for finding and extracting natural resources. We are well-funded, growing rapidly, and looking for amazing people to join our team.
What You'll Do :
As a member of our engineering team, you will help to lead the manufacturing team that makes the GeologicAI sensor-equipped robots to analyze rocks. This equipment is largely built and calibrated in-house by our engineers. Your primary responsibility will be augmenting and maintaining a quality manufacturing environment, including documentation, training, and certification, such that our finished systems can continue to produce best-in-class geological scanning data worldwide. Your team will work closely with vendors to manage inventory and will develop procedures for field upgrades to the equipment.
Your ultimate customer is our Operations team, which delivers geological data products to our customers based on measurements taken by systems that you will build. Your commitment to excellence will have an outsized impact on the quality we strive to deliver every day around the globe.
What We'll Love About You :
You have a manufacturing or industrial engineering degree, or another engineering degree with deep experience in manufacturing. You enjoy building complex mechanical and electrical devices, love systematizing and documenting knowledge, and are methodical. You are enthusiastic and hard working and looking to be part of a fun team building something useful and meaningful. You are a good communicator and work well with others. You are diligent and self-motivated and can get stuff done both when sitting next to your co-workers in an office, and as part of a remote-work team. You want to work with both your brain and your hands. You love the idea of building robots with lasers and x-ray beams, but in a save-the-world Tony Stark kind of way and not a take-over-the-world Lex Luthor kind of way. You are nerdy enough to appreciate those references, but not so nerdy that you get offended by the mixed Marvel-DC metaphor.
Main job responsibilities :
- Leads a disciplined manufacturing process and drives productivity improvement projects to support continuous improvement of process capability.
- Provides innovative cost-effective solutions to manufacturing process problems.
- Drives production planning and scheduling.
- Manages supply chain and material management.
- Serves as an internal manufacturing process resource for product groups, management, new product development engineering, marketing, and sales. Works with other departments within the corporation to ensure cost reduction efforts are being addressed, implemented and sustained.
- Participates in the selection of new machines, tooling, automation and processes required to meet productivity objectives.
- Understands and applies Lean Manufacturing tools (Standard Work, TPI, Poka Yoke, 5S, Kanban / Material Planning, Visual Management, etc.) across operational and transactional processes.
- Leads Kaizen events focused on efficiency improvements and cost reduction efforts, ensuring proper metrics are installed to ensure sustainment of improvements.
- Capable of leading training on Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Develops and maintains manufacturing work instructions, including machining, assembly, final assembly, paint and test and special processes. Assists in the training and evaluation when applicable.
- Ensure repeatable product quality and on-time delivery from Engineering to our customers in Operations. Assists in the development of quality metrics and implementation of corrective actions.
- Work with our supply chain to implement improvements.
- Creates performance goals for direct reports and manages individual performance to ensure achievement of goals.
