We have an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our corporate Home Hardware Retail Store (located in downtown St.
Jacobs. Reporting to the Retail Store Manager, you will respond to customer inquiries, requests, and concerns, while providing an exceptional customer experience.
Please note this is a Full-Time position (40 hours per week), and the successful candidate must be available for any of the store hours.
- Weekdays 7 : 00 / 8 : 00am to 6 : 00pm
- Saturdays 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm
- Sundays 12 : 00pm to 5 : 00pm

What you’ll do :
- Provide a courteous and efficient customer experience to all customers.
- Suggest value-added and related products by actively listening to customer needs.
- Process cash, credit card, and debit card payments through the POS system and Moneris banking terminals.
- General retail tasks and housekeeping - merchandise replenishing, organize gondolas, shelves, power aisle, and storage areas.
- Create effective and eye-catching retail displays.
- Help to load customer orders into vehicles (heavy lifting required on occasion).
- Maximize category management and product assortment while maintaining inventory management through routine cycle counting.
- Be well-informed on national store promotions and store services.
What we’re looking for :
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Highly approachable, customer-oriented individual who thrives in offering exceptional service.
- Good communication skills, positive attitude, punctual, and solid work ethic.
- Demonstrates responsibility to complete retail tasks according to instructions.
- Merchandise and display skills are a strong asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment assisting and supporting team members through training.
- Excellent attention to detail to keep merchandise neat and tidy and for inventory cycle counting (ensuring counts are correct).
- Good knowledge of home repairs, hardware, plumbing, electrical, paint, and the ability to recognize current trends in these categories.
- Basic computer skills in MS Office is required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays.
