Project Victoria is a yet unannounced AAA action-adventure game developed by our North American team supported by PCF’s European studios.
Job Description
Maintain artistic direction and quality
- Produce high quality UI art suitable technically and artistically with the project's universe and visual direction.
- Craft static and dynamic user interfaces that effectively convey information and actions, while delivering an enjoyable and engaging user experience.
Production / deadline
- Transforming wireframes into polished assets within specifications and maintaining workflow pipelines within given deadlines.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation outlining the UI's visual language, covering aspects such as color theory, typography, iconography, visual hierarchy, and motion design, from initial concept to implementation and ongoing iteration.
- Bug Fixing and describing R&D case studies in the knowledge base.
Feedback
- Participate in reviews, adapt to, and implement feedback from leads and peers in a professional manner.
- Provide feedback and improvement to visual quality
Collaboration / Communication
- Knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate closely with UX, Game Design, Production, and other key stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and refine the visual aesthetics of new and existing UI Art.
- Develop and curate project-specific style guides and high-fidelity asset libraries, ensuring a consistent user experience, scalability, and enhanced productivity and collaboration with other teams through shared resources.
- Collaborate in R&D initiatives, to explore new techniques and implement improvements to pipelines and workflows.
- Occasionally support leads and HR collaboration in recruitment efforts.
- Occasionally support new hires onboard process.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in AAA console / PC game development, including over 3 years with Unreal Engine.
- A strong portfolio showcasing UI design expertise.
- A solid understanding of traditional art skills along with foundational design competencies (shape, form, texture, value and color, typography and layout).
- A solid grasp of UI / UX conventions and principles.
- Proficient in implementing accessibility best practices encompassing color, scale, typography, and other visual design elements.
- Capable of envisioning, presenting, and executing high-level concepts within the deadlines.
- Extensive expertise in Figma and other wireframing and prototyping tools.
- Proficiency in handling multi-SKU, multi-resolution projects on both console and PC platforms.
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of UI design in games across various genres and platforms.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new styles, techniques and workflows with basic guidance.
- Ability to collaborate with department leads, and different departments to solve artistic and technical challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good mentoring skills.
