Kelly is hiring! We’re partnering with a Brantford-based food manufacturer known for its commitment to high-quality products and strict safety, efficiency, and compliance standards.
They are seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis for the day shift (6 : 00 a.
m. - 2 : 30 p.m. or 6 : 30 a.m. - 3 : 00 p.m.).
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide leadership, direction, guidance, supervision, evaluation, and training of employees within the department.
- Responsible for the overall effectiveness of the processing operations during assigned shift.
- Ensure safe working conditions, take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees, and comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Plan the production schedule and materials required according to the manufacturing orders.
- Assist employees with troubleshooting equipment issues and liaise with the maintenance department to minimize downtime and ensure product safety and quality.
- Provide advice and guidance on SQF related matters that pertain to the Processing Department and ensure compliance with the SQF code.
- Effectively use operational data daily to measure and communicate trends, reinforce positive results, and initiate corrective action as required.
- Responsible for personnel management including accident investigations, time and attendance, conflict resolution, and performance and disciplinary meetings.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Coordinate training and cross training of department employees as required.
- Recommend measures to improve safety, quality of product, production methods, and equipment performance.
- Responsible for maintaining food safety standards in work responsibilities and report food safety issues to QA immediately.
- Follow all prescribed SOPs, rotation schedules, HACCP and GMP procedures
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills Required :
- 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP), continuous improvement practices (Lean, Six Sigma), and production metrics.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively across teams.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
Compensation / Perks :
- Competitive salary $70,000-75,000 per year.
