PSYCHOLOGISTOR PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE 1.0 FTE Permanent The Simcoe County District School Board is seekingqualified applicants for the position of Psychologist or PsychologicalAssociate.
Reporting to the Senior Psychologist, the successful candidate willbe responsible for the provision of a wide variety ofpsychological services in schools in a timely and responsive manner.
- Qualifications : · For Psychologist - Doctorate Degree in Psychology, forPsychological Associate Masters degree in Psychology;
- Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontarioin the area of School Psychology.· The SCDSB will consider Doctoral Level Graduates who areeligible for registration with the College of Psychologists in the area ofSchool Psychology and are working towards certification.
Movement on the salarygrid may be limited while working towards certification ( ).· Registration with the College of Psychologists position isrequired for the Psychological Associate position.
- Pertinent Skills and Experience : · Three (3) (for Psychological Associate) to (5) (forPsychologist) years related experience in a school board setting preferredalthough experience in children’s mental health may be considered;
- May provide clinical supervision to non-registered teammembers, and carries own caseload;· Provides psychoeducational (diagnostic) assessmentservices;
- Provides education plan development and implementation andbehavioural consultations; Experience inconducting risk assessments would be an asset;
- Experience in a trans-disciplinary team model (i.e.Psychologists, Social Workers, Teachers, Principals, Attendance Counsellors,Speech and Language Pathologists) preferred or willingness to engage in thismodel;
- Provides Special Equipment Allocation (SEA) Claim reviewconsultation and targeted assessment services;· As an expert resource for Board staff and central specialeducation staff, school staff and administration, provides information, guidance,and expertise to ensure informed decision making regarding the health and safetyof students and quality of psychological services;
- In-depth knowledge of legislation, codes, and regulationsas they pertain to delivery of psychological services, diagnosis and individualeducation plans, privacy, and confidentiality;
- Maintains a full range of case files, records andindividual plans related to crisis response, conflict resolution, behaviouraland emotional counselling, and intervention programs;
- Opportunities to participate in program development andmental health strategy;· Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Strong computer skills including experience with datamanagement systems, MS Office Applications Word and Excel;· Reliable transportation required;
- The nature of this position will require the successfulcandidate to service large geographical areas; mileage reimbursement at theBoard approved rate.
- Effective September 1, 2018, the SCDSB will considercandidates for part-time positions. Candidates must work a minimum of 0.
5full-time equivalency (FTE). This position works the school year ten (10) months andten (10) days. The salary range for a Psychologist position is $81,444 - $101,805per year ( ) and the salary range for a Psychological Associate position is $75,980- $94,976 per year.
This position has a stipend of $5,152 per year. The annual salary and stipend will be pro-rated to FTE. EffectiveSeptember 1, 2021, this position has an additional allowance of up to $10,000 peryear which is based on completion of psychological assessments.
The additionalallowance is payable in July of each year. This is a unionized position andunion dues are applicable. Participationin the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,even ifcurrently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
