Manager of Accounting

The Opportunity :

As the Manager of Accounting, you will report to the CFO and oversee a team of two. This newly created position plays a critical role in the company's period of growth, with a wide range of responsibilities from financial reporting, month-end, process automation, special projects, AR / AP, payroll and more.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee the preparation and review of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Lead initiatives to automate and streamline accounting processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
• Supervise Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and addressing any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial procedures, support audits, and drive continuous improvement in accounting practices.

Success Criteria & Deliverables :

• Hands-on with month-end close within 3 months
• Development of solid understanding of the business and finance function
• Ongoing management and coaching of team within 1 year
• Implementation of improvements to eliminate manual workarounds, improve accuracy, and reduce cycle times
• Identification and prioritization of opportunities to improve internal controls and processes

What We Need From You :

• 4 years of experience in an audit firm
• Experience in manufacturing industry
• CPA designation
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• System savvy with the ability to learn new technology quickly
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Process improvement mindset
• Curious personality, life longer learner mentality
