The Growth and Performance Marketing team within Sun Life’s Client Experience Office (CXO) has embarked on a major transformation.
As part of this transformation, we are continuously launching and testing new ideas, platforms, and solutions to generate new leads and identify opportunities for existing clients and group members.
As a senior data analyst on the Client Acquisition Analytics team, you will be part of a large analytics community and will be focused within the Growth and Performance Marketing business helping the team by, but not limited to, mining data for business insights, analyzing and interpreting trends using statistical tools and techniques, reporting on business performance, and triaging code and data-related issues.
You will be supporting several key initiatives that are tied to our vision of growing our client base, improving advisor lead conversion, supporting the Head Office lead Evolution program, monitoring of our key performance indicators and championing the Retail Leads Data Modernization.
To achieve this, we will be leveraging many systems across Sunlife, gathering requirements, engaging with subject matter experts, and creating reporting.
All of this is to be able to tell the story of our clients’ journeys and gather insights to improve their experience.
What will you do?
- Work closely with business partners to identify complex business problems to solve and provide data driven solutions.
- Analytic work from requirements specification, data gathering, analysis to presentations in order to solve business problems.
- Work with stakeholders across Sun Life as a subject matter expert in the prospect, client, and advisor data
- Ongoing support to uncover opportunities that will drive incremental sales.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the performance of analytical and data products in the overall portfolio.
- Provide support for annual business plan, monthly sales forecast, and insight analysis.
- Operationalize reporting processes and synthesize key metrics into impactful and insightful dashboards to monitor and assess the success of the business initiatives / performance.
- Perform reporting automation, self-serve analytics enablement, and promote the culture of analytics-driven decision making.
What do you need to succeed?
- 5 + years experience working with data (i.e., quantitative analysis experience, including handling, manipulating, and analyzing data, hypothesis testing, data modelling and data visualization)
- 5 + years experience with SQL. Comfortable writing accurate, efficient, but complex SQL queries to extract and integrate data from multiple database sources.
- Experience of working with AWS data toolsets (eg : Glue, Redshift, SageMaker etc.) and knowledge of using Python / Pyspark
- Experience using oral and written storytelling to share data driven insights in a clear, succinct manner.
- Strong partnering approach with a commitment to meeting business partners' unique needs and expectations.
- In-depth prioritization, planning, and change management skills to stay within time / scope of a task in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable learning new applications and processes quickly with minimal direction
- Ability to document work.
What will be nice to have?
- 2 years+ experience in Data visualization / dashboarding with Tableau or equivalent
- Understanding of predictive and prescriptive techniques (i.e., regression, decision trees, forecasting etc.)
- Experience in Salesforce
- MSc preferably in a statistical, mathematical, or technical field (i.e., computer science)
- Additional statistical programming languages (i.e SAS / R)
- Advanced user of MS Excel and MS Access
