The Restaurant Manager will ensure that the hotel restaurant offers diners a contemporary, vibrant and welcoming setting with outstanding food.
This position will be responsible for leading, empowering and motivating the team of ambassadors in a positive work environment.
Responsibilities include maintaining high internal / external customer service standards while implementing effective controls.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the day to day operations of the Restaurant while maintaining a consistently high level of customer service delivery through trained and qualified staff.
- Ensures that all working areas, furnishings and equipment are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and repair.
- Provides a common vision, defining priorities, clarifying roles & responsibilities of team members and develops departmental procedures in order to achieve the highest possible degree of guest satisfaction and an environment that produces a highly engaged team of food sales & service professionals
- Provides ongoing coaching & development using Coast's standards
- Budgets, forecasts and ensures optimal labour costs for the restaurant as well as food & beverage revenue forecasts
- Participates in the revision of menus and upgrading of service
- Monitors an effective purchasing program allowing for operating supplies and expenses within budget
- Ensures compliance to relevant legislative requirements related to Food & Beverage sales
- Handling of guest complaints, follows through on action required
- Initiates and implements food & beverage promotions by collaborating with the Coast marketing team to actively promote the restaurant using varous platforms including social media
- Works with the People & Culture Manager to prepare seasonal recruitment plans resulting in appropriate staffing levels throughout the year
- Attracts & develops talent by creating an environment in which contributions are recognized & rewarded
Skills / Knowledge / Experience :
- Minimum 3 years food service management experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Exceptional communication & leadership skills
- Effective problem solving and decision making ability
- Demonstrated superior customer service philosophy
- Required certifications : Food Safe & Serving it Right
- Hepatitis A vaccination recommended
