About the role
We are looking for a data engineering developer to join our team at Intact's Data Lab.
Our data science lab is one of the largest in the country, and data engineering is one of its main pillars. We have big ambitions and want you to be part of them.

On a day-to-day basis, we primarily use cloud technologies. AWS, Databricks, Snowflake and IICS among others. Python is our favorite language! We are responsible for ingesting data from many difference sources, but also for the sometimes-complex transformation of this data, to provide our scientists with quality data that is ready for machine learning.
In this mission, you will be supported by quality analysts, business analysts, application architects, and data architects.
We use Scrum as our organizational methodology, with the support of our product owners and our scrum masters.
What you will accomplish with us :
- With your team, you will participate in the design, development and delivery of efficient, effective and secure data flows.
- Building on your experience, you will have the opportunity to participate in the implementation of industry best practices.
- Through your leadership, you will be an agent of change who will grow our data engineering practice to make our lab an industry benchmark.
What you bring to the table :
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or any equivalent combination of training and experience .
- Your 2+ years experience in data engineering / ETL development / Data Warehousing / Software Engineering.
- Your demonstrated experience using Databricks and AWS to build data pipelines.
- Your experience in Big Data and Cloud technologies for processing large volumes of data.
- An understanding of data management, security and classification.
- An understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Your proficiency in the Python programming language and the PySpark Framework.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
