The Financial Specialist (Senior)needstobeinnovativeand thinkcriticallytofindprocessandsystemssolutionsthat work.

  • Attendofficialmeetingsinordertoassistseniormanagementusefullyinallaspectsofthework.
  • Develop throughthe engagement of internal stakeholders the recommended changes toprocesses,procedures andcollaboratewiththeInformationManagement(IM)teamonsystemschanges.
  • EngagewithstakeholderstocommunicatetheidentifiedchangestoclosegapsandbringtheDNDintocompliancefromapolicyperspective;
  • Applytheacquiredunderstandingofthedepartmentalcontextandintricaciesto unblockthingsthroughgoodrelationships withkeycontacts inother departments .
  • Participateintheplanninganddefinitionofthekeyprioritiestoensurecompliancewiththeproperaccountingtreatmentforcapitalexpenditures;
  • Engageinternalstakeholderstodevelopbusiness requirementsforenhancementofDRMIS(SAP)financialand material system in support of the Vote 5 Accounting Treatment Projectimplementation to comply with new ReceiverGeneral (RG) coding requirements (SAP is the ERPusedatDND);
  • Assist with thepreparation of communications on behalf of Senior management (communique’s tostaff andcentralagencies);
  • ProvidestrategicinputforthepurposesofbriefingSeniorManagement(upto ADM)onthe projectimplicationsfor suchthingsas BriefingNotesorMemorandums;and
  • AdvisetheDGFOS(ProjectSponsor) andDirectorontheparticularrisks,challengestoimplementation.

Qualifications

  • Mustdemonstratethattheproposed resource has an accountingdesignation(CPA,CA,CMA,orCGA).
  • Mustclearlydemonstratethattheproposedresource has a minimum of five (5)yearsof experience within the last ten (10)yearsworking for or working with the FederalGovernmentproviding financial managementadvicetoseniormanagement.
  • Mustclearlydemonstratethattheproposedresource has a minimum of two (2)yearsof experience in the management ofcorporateandfinancialprojectsinvolving
  • financialprocesses and systems that affectmultiplefunctionsacrosstheorganization
  • Must clearlydemonstrate that theproposedresource has a minimum of two (2)yearsof experience performing accountingfunctionson assetsorinventorieswitha
  • minimumNetBookValueof$50Million
  • Must clearlydemonstrate that theproposedresource has a minimum of two (2)yearsofexperiencewithinthelastfive(5)yearsworking directly with and developing arelationship with one or more of the followingGovernmentofCanada CentralAgencies :
  • thePrimeMinister'sOffice;
  • thePrivyCouncilOffice;
  • theTreasuryBoardofCanadaSecretariat;and
  • theDepartmentofFinance
  • Mustclearlydemonstratethattheproposedresource has a minimum of five (5)yearsinthelastten(10)yearssupportinga Government of Canada Department orAgency’s business processes that rely on theuseofanSAP-basedIntegratedFinancialandMaterialSystem(IFMS).

MUST CURRENTLY HOLD VALIDRELIABILITY GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARENCE
