Senior Accountant - Sunshine Coast

Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.

Prepare financial statements and corresponding notes.

Prepare and / or review personal and corporate tax returns.

Prepare year-end tax forms (T4s and T5s).

Apply knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE).

Investigate and correct discrepancies / irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports.

Respond to client questions and queries.

Raise identified technical issues with manager or engagement partner.

Update manager or engagement partner on the progress of engagements.

Prepare professional correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining findings, facts and highlights resulting from the client engagement.

Collaborate with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines.

Work with accounting software and provide support to clients.

Develop and maintain relationships with client management.

Develop a thorough understanding of their services, businesses and industry.

Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.

Raise awareness of this firm in the community.

Lead engagement teams while coaching and mentoring junior team members.

What you must have :

CPA designation in-progress, passed CFE or CPA designated

Sound knowledge of the CPA Canada Handbook, review procedures, and tax compliance.

1+ years’ experience in public accounting with public company client experience.

Familiar with CaseWare, Microsoft Office, and Tax Prep .

An innovative thinker, comfortable in a team and client-focused environment.

Self-starter, able to work independently.

Strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills, written and verbal.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail.

Able to interact with clients, co-workers, Managers, and Partners.

Able to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
