Job Title : Finishing Carpenter (Vancouver)

$30-$35 per hour

Job Description

We are looking to hire a Lead Finishing Carpenter / Handyman. In this role, you will be responsible for installing doors and hardware, lever sets, weather strips, door closures, panic doors and wiring them up, as well as door stops.

You will lead a team of up to 5 people and occasionally work independently. You must be able to read and follow step-by-step instructions for installation.

Responsibilities

• Install doors and hardware, lever sets, weather strips, door closures, panic doors and wire them up, door stops.
• Lead a team of up to 5 people.
• Work independently as needed.
• Read instructions and perform installations based on step-by-step instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and change orders.
• Use basic power and hand tools such as cordless drills, driver bits, screwdrivers, saws, angle grinders, and tape measures.

Essential Skills

• 10 years experience as a finishing carpenter.
• Experience overseeing up to 5 people.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and follow installation instructions and blueprints.
• Proficient use of hand and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Leadership experience.
• Experience as an Installation Technician.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 360 suite.

Work Environment

You will work on various sites across the lower mainland, with some out-of-town work available. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime.

You must be comfortable moving between sites, with upcoming projects in locations such as Burnaby, Douglas College in New West, 1st Ave UBC Gateway, and all Broadway subway.

Travel to other sites for learning opportunities in Burnaby, Surrey, Aldergrove, and Vancouver may also be required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, British Columbia.
