Job Title Office Engineering Coordinator Location Toronto, ON CA (Primary) Category Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls, Project Management Job Type Full-time Job Responsibilities (Internal Title : Engineering II) Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating all aspects of engineering work on assigned projects Comply with regulations and guidelines for the practice of professional engineering in the Province of licensure including but not limited to professional responsibility, the Engineer’s duty to report, use of the Professional Engineer’s seal, due diligence, report writing, giving opinions, communications, confidential information, data gathering, and site investigations Engineering and discipline project design activities relating to concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility studies, EPCM and EPC projects Provides operational day-to-day support and coordination with Discipline Engineers for arriving at responsible decisions / outcomes on engineering matters for the project, or assigned portion of the project, as required Defines and controls engineering work scope for the project or assigned portion of work based on Contract Documents Plan for and execute appropriate means and methods in engineering to complete the assigned tasks and duties on small projects or elements of mid to large-size projects from inception through to completion Supplies technical and general support on engineering-related matters Maintains contact with Engineering Management, procurement, project controls and construction and coordinates information between all parties Maintains contact and coordination with the client, Vendors / Suppliers, Process Licensors, project / jobsite personnel, and Regulatory Agencies on engineering matters Responsible for Engineering contributions to the health, safety, environmental and quality objectives of the project Consult with the assigned assigned supervisor to seek guidance and input during the key phases of a project Complete any tasks assigned by assigned supervisor or higher in an efficient and timely manner Working Conditions Office-based Qualifications Required Experience : Minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering area of specialty Education : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in a related area of specialty Licenses OR Certifications : Holding recognized PEng.
licensure in the province of practice Skills and Competencies : In-depth understanding of prevailing means and methods in engineering area of specialty Competent in other engineering-related software Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal) Effective skills in Microsoft Office Equipped to work independently and as part of a team Comtech Group Inc.
